Being in the mob isn’t a foreign concept for a Robert De Niro film. That said, we haven’t really seen De Niro deal with having his “family” in on the crazy hijinks. Enter in Michelle Pfeiffer, Glee’s Dianna Agron, and John D’Leo.

Luc Besson’s latest film The Family highlights the funny, more extreme aspects that come with being in the witness protection program, complete with action packed moments, and quick laughs.

The official synopsis for The Family is as follows:

“The Manzoni family, a notorious mafia clan, is relocated to Normandy, France under the witness protection program, where fitting in soon becomes challenging as their old habits die hard.”

If the trailer looks familiar, it’s because it’s basically a throw back to De Niro’s older works like The Godfather , as well as Pfeiffer, who had breakout performances in Married To The Mob and Scarface . With lines from De Niro like , “It was a time when I had it all. People would ask me, ‘What was it like being untouchable?’ The question they really should have asked was, ‘What happens when it’s all over?’

The Family should definitely bring back some nostalgia for people who remember both actors at their career highs. De Niro, who has laid low with lighthearted comedies, had a real turn last year in the David O. Russell film Silver Linings Playbook .

As for other actors involved in the film Tommy Lee Jones plays an exasperated FBI agent that has to regularly deal with De Niro and his family by moving them around and trying to keep them out of trouble the best he can.

Originally titled Malavita , the film wasn’t without its musical moments. Both Pfeiffer and Agron put their pipes to the test as they sang for the film.
