Homeland ‘s Claire Danes coloured the Emmy red carpet purple in a stunning Prada dress in, you guessed it, sequinned purple. And, an even flashier accessory was her black-tuxed husband, Hannibal ‘s Hugh Dancy, who Claire has been married to since 2009.

One Twitter Emmy-watcher (and style reporter for the New York Times ) made note of the silver chains that acted as the straps for the purple Prada Claire Danes was sporting, which seemed to be a common theme among red carpet goers.

Furthermore, Danes’ stunning outfit was complimented by Jimmy Choo shoes, a clutch purse by Tyler Alexandra, and jewellery by Cartier. Oh, and onlookers also swooned over her pleasant blonde bob hairstyle.
May Sofi of Bustle complimented Claire on what she described as an edgier, rock and roll inspired dress choice that seemed to push the envelope for Danes, who normally is more conservative when it comes to fashion.
“I would describe the actress’ personal fashion sense as a bit more refined and reserved. She typically opts for simple silhouettes, monochrome hues, and all-around elegant designs. Now, it seems, Danes is striving to push the fashion envelope to show the world that she is capable of multiple types of looks, and what a pleasant surprise that is.”
Claire Danes was at the Emmy’s, nominated for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series for her role as Carrie Mathison on Homeland . According to Huffington Post , Danes has been nominated for the award for the last four years, and won it twice — once in 2012 and again in 2013.
The latest season of Homeland saw Claire Danes’ character without the partner she had in previous seasons, which put much of the weight of the show on her, according to Us Weekly .
“I was working pretty hard. It was an exciting shift, scary daunting to do it without my partner, Damian [Lewis]. It was rigorous but utterly worthwhile. I can’t quite believe my luck that I’m on a project that continues to challenge me and nourish me.”
According to the Daily Mail , Claire Danes is currently in Berlin filming the fifth season of Homeland alongside a newcomer to the show, Miranda Otto. At the annual Showtime Networks Emmy-Eve party, USA Today reports Danes was pleased to be back in the US for the event.
“We’re so happy to have a reason to celebrate. We’re filming our ninth episode, so it’s nice to just have a moment to pause and reflect and raise a glass.”
Installment 67 of the annual Emmy awards fell during a scorching California heat wave. This led a reporter to ask the important question as to what a good strategy for dealing with the heat on the red carpet would be. What was Claire Danes’ reply? “Deodorant.”
