Priyanka Chopra, the Quantico star, posted a no-makeup, early-morning selfie on Instagram, and fans said she looked like Deepika Padukone’s twin.
“I thought it was Deepika. Twins” said one
“Look like Deepika,” said another.
This would not be the first time that anyone has confused the Quantico star with Deepika Padukone, the xXx: Return of Xander Cage actress.
In fact, there was an instance when the media confused Deepika Padukone with Priyanka Chopra, which caused a lot of stir among fans.
When Priyanka Chopra was asked how she felt about people confusing Deepika for her, she said it wasn’t “fair” and “right” and that not “every brown girl does not look the same.”
The Quantico star went on to say that Deepika Padukone is a huge star in her native country India and that everyone confused her with Priyanka was because she is the “ most popular brown face ” around, Indiatimes had reported.
It’s not clear what Deepika had to say about those comments, but it looks like Priyanka was throwing subtle shade at Deepika Padukone by calling herself the “most popular brown face” when there are other “brown” actors in showbiz who are definitely more popular than her. It’s not known how Deepika Padukone felt being mistaken for Priyanka, but Priyanka Chopra seems to have taken this as a compliment.
Deepika Padukone also addressed this alleged rivalry with Priyanka Chopra , Hindustan Times had reported.
Deepika went on to say that she felt very awkward when she is compared with Priyanka Chopra and that Priyanka, was in fact, a good friend to her. She says even while they were working in Bollywood, they were never rivals and there is no reason they should be now.
Deepika went on to say that Priyanka Chopra is doing what she is doing in her “own space.” Was Deepika trying to suggest that she’s bagged a blockbuster movie whereas Priyanka Chopra is still working in TV? Looks like Deepika is definitely excited about her career in Hollywood. It remains to be seen if she will find the same success as Priyanka Chopra.
