The PlayStation phone may be about to be launched with claims out of France that a launch event has been scheduled for December 9.
French blog Nowhereelse claims to have received a copy of an invitation to a press event for the phone. The invitation states that the event is “the most awaited event of the past 10 years.”
It should be noted that the authenticity of the invitation is not confirmed, and if it is authentic, we don’t yet know whether the event is for the launch of the fabled PlayStation Phone. That said, the invite does include the standard PlayStation icons with a matching phone icon.
Images allegedly showing a prototype of a PlayStation Phone were published on the web last month , fueling speculation that Sony Ericsson was not only working on the phone, but the phone might find its way to worldwide release at some stage in the next 12 months.
