Orange is the New Black Season 3 has been filmed without one cast member: Jason Biggs. According to Us Weekly , Biggs will not be a part of the next season of the popular Netflix series after being somewhat of an important figure in the first two seasons. While the show has never really revolved around Larry Bloom, his wife, Piper Chapman (portrayed by actress Taylor Schilling), is the central character, which has really given him a place. Now, however, Biggs says that Larry has been taken out of the show, at least for Season 3.
“They’re not focusing on Larry at the moment. Larry will not be in season 3. But there’s always a possibility he can come back,” Biggs told the New York Daily News .
Many Orange is the New Black fans are happy with this news, as they are hooked on Piper’s life in prison, and don’t care as much about what she left behind. After two seasons, people have formed some pretty tight relationships with some of the women at Litchfield. From Red to Poussey to Suzanne, viewers really seem fixated on what’s going on behind bars, not outside of them. The decision to take Larry out of Season 3 is probably smart for this reason.
According to People Magazine , Biggs has already landed himself a gig for the time being. He will be on Broadway, starring in The Heidi Chronicles alongside Elisabeth Moss ( Mad Men ).
As previously reported by the Inquisitr, Season 3 may feature a “ time jump ” where fans will see how Daya’s relationship with John Bennett plays out once she gives birth to their child. There will also be some new faces added to the cast, including Mary Steenburgen who will reportedly play George Mendez’s mother (does that me he’s coming back?!). Actress Lori Petty will make another appearance on the show after a brief role last season. Actress Blair Brown from Fringe also filmed for Season 3. Her exact role has still not been confirmed. According to PopSugar, Ruby Rose will also be on Season 3. She will play Stella Carlin, Litchfield’s new head-turning inmate. Rumor has it that both Piper and her gal pal Alex will have a crush on Stella. Sounds like a prison fight made in heaven.
Netflix will release Season 3 of Orange is the New Black in June. All of the episodes are released at once, so get ready to binge!
