A North Carolina courthouse shooting occurred about 45 miles east of Raleigh in Nash County. Two men were reportedly shot just before noon local time. A manhunt for the two Nash County Courthouse suspected shooters is underway.
The North Carolina courthouse remains on lockdown as local law enforcement officers and police dogs search the wooded area near the Nash County Courthouse for the suspect. The identities of the men shot at the courthouse have not yet been released. The condition of the courthouse shooting victims remains unknown as well.
The Nash County Courthouse is located in Nashville, North Carolina. The heavily agricultural area is home to about 5,500 people.
Nash County Sheriff Dick Jenkins told the media that one North Carolina courthouse shooting victim was wounded in the hand and the leg and another took a bullet in the back. When asked if he had any idea about a motive in the Nashville shooting, the sheriff said, “No clue. I think it’s senseless.”

Sheriff Jenkins also said the police are searching for two men who may be in a white car headed toward Highway 64. Law enforcement helicopters are in the air looking for the suspected Nash County Courthouse shooters.
“We’re looking at all leads,” he said. “That’s all I can tell you right now.”
The stunning event had roads blocked across downtown Nashville as police looked for a suspect. Put on lockdown Tuesday were Nashville Elementary, Nash Central Middle and W.L. Green Administrative Facility.
