Nintendo has been very serious about keeping information about the upcoming Nintendo NX from leaking but more and more sources are revealing leaks surrounding the mysterious new Nintendo NX console. One of the rumors regarding the Nintendo NX circulating the web are the new titles for the upcoming Nintendo console already for consideration by Nintendo.
Inquisitr previously reported that Square Enix has announced two new Dragon Quest titles for the Nintendo consoles, Dragon Quest X and Dragon Quest XI. While Dragon Quest XI is already confirmed for release in the PlayStation 4 platform as well, reports reveal that these two Dragon Quest titles are already for consideration for the Nintendo NX.
Nintendo has been very adamant about keeping its mouth shut regarding anything Nintendo NX related, and they are trying to hold their promise to keep their silence about the Nintendo NX until 2016. That’s why when reports initially came out that Square Enix revealed Dragon Quest X and Dragon Quest XI were coming to the Nintendo NX, Nintendo and Square Enix were quick to rebut with a statement that the plans for the new Dragon Quest titles are not set in stone, contrary to initial reports . Game Spot released an update regarding the report that the Nintendo NX are seeing its first two titles before final unit specifications and announcements.
“Square Enix has toned down is commitment to releasing Dragon Quest X and Dragon Quest XI for Nintendo’s NX. Asked for clarification on its position regarding the console, a spokesperson for the company said the releases are ‘under consideration’ but it doesn’t have ‘further information to share at the moment.’”
It’s obvious that Nintendo is keeping its reigns on any news regarding the Nintendo NX since it has first committed to avoiding leaks that could potentially tip their competitors. And while Nintendo continues its silence, more and more theories are coming out regarding the upcoming Nintendo NX.
Forbes was one to report about the rumors circulating the mysterious Nintendo NX, saying that tech advisers and analysts are betting that Nintendo NX will focus more on virtual reality and augmented reality. Following Nintendo’s ‘Blue Ocean’ strategy, this prediction might not be too far off the mark.
Late Satoru Iwata describes the Blue Ocean strategy that Nintendo employs, a good explanation for their continued silence about the Nintendo NX.
“If you do the same thing as others, it will wear you out. Nintendo is not good at competing so we always have to challenge [the status quo] by making something new, rather than competing in an existing market…It’s often called the ‘Blue Ocean Strategy,’ looking for something that no one else is working on.”
Until Nintendo finally comes out with more news regarding the Nintendo NX, it is possible that more game developers will be holding their tongues regarding any future releases that will concern the Nintendo NX.
