The new video game releases for the week of February 15, 2015 continue to show Sony’s PlayStation platform dominating the release schedule. It is easy to forget that the Xbox One has some truly inspiring titles due out later this year, in the wake of almost no releases of note for the last few months. This week sadly continues the theme from last week as The Order: 1886 and Kirby and the Rainbow Curse are set to take center stage this week.
Ready at Dawn is bringing PlayStation 4 owners The Order: 1886 this week as the developer’s first console title. The studio built a name for itself with the excellent Daxter spin-off game for the PSP, which was followed up by two God of War titles for the PSP. The God of War PSP games were eventually ported to the PlayStation 3 with HD graphics and 3D visuals. The Order: 1886 is a giant step up for Ready at Dawn, as they trade the chains of Olympus for the steam punk guns of an alternate Victorian England filled with guns, human/monster half breeds, and class warfare. The Order: 1886 releases on February 20 exclusively for the PlayStation 4.
HAL Laboratory will be bringing the first HD Kirby game for Wii U owners stateside this week in the form of Kirby and the Rainbow Curse . The title is a follow up to the 2005 Nintendo DS title Kirby: Canvas Curse, in which Kirby finds himself trapped in ball form. Kirby, therefore, moves across the levels by use of the GamePad as the player draws rainbow colored lines to guide him through the levels. The game also features Amiibo support with the Kirby, King Dedede, and Metaknight figures. Kirby and the Rainbow Curse will release on February 20 for the Nintendo Wii U.
