Mr. Incredible is guilty of battering Batgirl, according to the Los Angeles City Attorney, which made the conviction announcement in reference to an incident that was captured on camera in October 2014.
The Los Angeles City Attorney issued a press release announcing that it had “secured a conviction” against Muhammet Bilik for an attack against a woman dressed as Batgirl on or about October 21, 2014, while both were on Hollywood Boulevard.
“Muhammet Bilik, 35, was convicted on one count of battery and was sentenced to 36 months’ probation, one day of jail, 20 days of CalTrans work, and 36 Anger Management sessions. Defendant Bilik was also ordered to stay away from the Hollywood Entertainment District which is bordered by La Brea Ave. (west); Franklin Ave. (north); Argyle Ave. (east); and W. Sunset Blvd (south). A hearing is scheduled for March 24, 2015 to determine restitution and proof of progress on the CalTrans and Anger Management.”
Media outlets, such as the Los Angeles Times , reported on the conviction and Bilik attacking while dressed as Mr. Incredible.
“In the video, which eventually went viral, Bilik is seen grappling with a woman dressed as Batgirl on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Chewbacca, Waldo from the ‘Where’s Waldo’ book series and horror movie villain Freddy Krueger all try to intervene as peacekeepers. The video shows Bilik slamming Batgirl to the ground before it cuts off.”
The Los Angeles Times reported that “Batgirl reappeared on the tourist thoroughfare a few weeks after the fight,” at which time police located and interviewed her. She identified Bilik as Mr. Incredible.
KTLA 5 interviewed a “man dressed as Spider-Man” and reported that he said “the fight began after Mr. Incredible complained that Batgirl was standing too close to him.”
KTLA 5 also reported that “City prosecutors have earned convictions in six other cases involving characters along Hollywood Boulevard.”
Apart from Bilik as Mr. Incredible, people convicted for assaults on other impersonators or tourists include those who dressed as Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck, Superman, Catwoman, Michael Jackson, and “a character from the video game ‘Halo’.”
The Los Angeles City Attorney press release mentioned that the recent convictions are the result of targeting the Hollywood Boulevard area.
“This conviction is part of an increased and focused effort by [City Attorney Mike] Feuer and the LAPD to crack down on violent incidents on Hollywood Blvd., including those involving costumed characters.”
The Inquisitr previously reported on Bilik when FilmOn first broke the news in October 2014 that a man dressed as Mr. Incredible attacked a woman dressed Batgirl.
