Actress Monica Bellucci and Black Swan star Vincent Cassel are officially calling it quits. The famous Hollywood couple have been married for over 14 years.
The Brothers Grimm and Matrix: Reloaded star announced the separation to the Italian press earlier this week. The actress’ announcement arrived days after Closer magazine printed a report that she had split from her husband.
Cassel released his own statement about his split from Bellucci on Monday. Although the acclaimed actor confirmed earlier reports, he stopped short from revealing any details about the situation.
“Vincent Cassel confirms that he is separating from his wife Monica Bellucci by mutual agreement,” a representative explained.
According to E! Online, the actress admitted to Grazia magazine earlier this year that she didn’t know how much longer her relationship with Cassel would last. Although they’ve been a couple for almost two decades, she seemed uncertain about their future .
“We never know how long it will last. Today, it works, but in a year…I don’t know,” she told the publication.
Monica Bellucci and Vincent Cassel met on the set of the 1996 movie The Apartment . The couple would tie the knot a few years later. They have two daughters together.
Although the actress is best known for her supporting roles in Hollywood, the actress is quite accomplished in both France and Italy. She is currently working on a handful of cinematic projects including On the Milky Road and the Italian drama Le meraviglie .
Cassel, meanwhile, was recently found in director Danny Boyle’s thriller Trance . He is currently working with Brotherhood of the Wolf director Christoph Gans on a French version of Beauty and the Beast . The film will arrive in theaters overseas next year.
