Michael B. Jordan is having an excellent year. Hot off of his critically acclaimed lead role in Fruitvale Station , Jordan is currently seeing himself as the name on top of everyone’s to-do list. Jordan, who previously starred in television shows Friday Night Lights , and Parenthood , is now becoming one hot commodity in Hollywood after his turn as Oscar Grant in the buzzed about drama.
According to The Wrap Michael B. Jordan may be adding yet another film to his resume. It’s being reported that the Fruitvale Station star is being eyed by director Roland Emmerich for his long-awaited Independence Day Sequel. Multiple sources familiar with the casting going down at 20th Century Fox have confirmed the news to The Wrap .
While Michael B. Jordan has yet to receive an official offer for Independence Day 2 , and the studio itself didn’t have a comment, official casting news can be expected closer to the holiday season. The timing would make sense given the film’s production schedule, and it would only add to the buzz surrounding Michael B. Jordan during award season.
According to sources, the Independence Day 2 director has already met with a few up and coming actors, of those actors Jordan seems to be high on everyone’s lists. The source goes on to say that Michael B. Jordan is extremely interested as well.
If the studio does make an offer, this would be yet another blockbuster film that Jordan is poised to star in. Currently Jordan will play the Human Torch in the new Fantastic Four reboot. In addition, it’s been rumored that Michael B. Jordan is also rumored for a role in JJ Abrams’ new Star Wars Episode VII film . Of course there’s also the Apollo Creed flick that Michael B. Jordan has with Fruitvale Station director Ryan Coogler too. If Jordan scores all of these roles he may just be the hardest working up and coming actor we’ve had in some time.
