Melissa Joan Hart, the actress known for her roles in Sabrina, the Teenage Witch and Melissa & Joey, recently blasted the media for what she called poor September 11 coverage and the 39-year-old expressed her anger via Twitter and Instagram with posts such as the following.

As Yahoo! News notes, while Hart specifically expressed her dismay with CNN and Fox News, she also took the time to give a nod of approval to NBC’s coverage of 9/11.
“This lightens my heart as I wake up today and am discouraged by the lack of footage around the memory of those lost,” the actress wrote on Instagram . “Have we so quickly forgotten about the victims, the survivors, the families left behind and the first responders who so heroically ran into the buildings while everyone else ran out?! At least this photo reminds us that there is a hope for peace and love in the world and a promise for a better place in eternal peace. #neverforget #Repost @nbcnightlynews.”
Melissa Joan Hart continued with her rant, complaining that there wasn’t enough coverage of the tragedy. Hart believes that television news networks should be doing more to pay tribute to such an important event in our nation’s history, and she mentioned how much media coverage the Kardashians get compared to 9/11.
“My children need to know that this day changed our lives in the U.S. and the world and without solid news coverage, I’m discouraged. If Kardashians can be covered 24/7 why can’t we have one day dedicated to a moment in history that changed our path? I don’t need to see tragedy, I need to see stories of healing &memory!”

Gossip Cop reported that many social media users were upset at the fact that Hart later in the day announced that her clothing line for kids, King Of Harts, would give free shipping to anyone who used the code “911.” After posting the plug for her company, Hart was accused of exploiting the holiday for her own personal, financial gain. Hart insisted that this wasn’t the case and she issued a formal apology via Facebook on Saturday.
“I want to apologize for yesterday’s free shipping post. It was meant to be my small way to give something back. I wanted to cover the shipping charges as a heartfelt gesture, not an exploit of 9/11. I see now how it was interpreted and viewed as being in bad taste. I apologize. It was a mistake.”
