Meadow Walker, the daughter of late actor Paul Walker, has been awarded a settlement of $10.1 million from the estate of Roger Rodas, the driver in the fatal accident that killed him and Walker in 2013.
According to TheWrap , the settlement was reached in November 2014 , but news of the settlement didn’t emerge until Thursday.
Meadow, 17, received the $10.1 million from the estate of Rodas for his share of responsibility in the crash. Because Walker’s daughter is still a minor, the money will be kept in a trust until she becomes of age.
The Rodas estate paid out the sum after the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department determined that the deadly crash was the result of “unsafe speed.” According to the report, the 2005 Porsche Carrera GT that Rodas and Walker were in together was traveling between 80 and 93 mph when it collided with a power pole and multiple trees, and ultimately exploded in Santa Clarita, California, on Nov. 20, 2013. The actor was in the passenger seat of the car at the time, and both men were pronounced dead at the scene.

Meanwhile, Paul Walker’s family is continuing litigation against Porsche, claiming that the Carrera GT was capable of a top speed of 205 mph but “lacked safety features that are found on well-designed racing cars.”
Walker, best known as one of the stars of the Fast and Furious movies, left his entire estate, valued at $25 million, to daughter Meadow Walker.
In a statement to TheWrap , Meadow Walker’s attorney, Jeff Milam, said the large settlement from Rodas’ estate is only “a fraction of what her father would have received as an international star” had he not died in the crash.
“Through his estate, Mr. Rodas, the driver of the car, took partial responsibility for the crash. Meadow’s lawsuit against Porsche AG – a $13 billion corporation – intends to hold the company [responsible] for producing a vehicle that was defective and caused Paul Walker’s death.”

According to CBS News , Rodas’ widow is facing an uphill battle in her lawsuit against Porsche. The luxury car manufacturer was recently cleared of any charges of negligence or responsibility for the deaths of Paul Walker and her husband.
As previously reported by Inquisitr , new details about Paul Walker’s death have been leaked because of the lawsuits.
Celeb Dirty Laundry noted the following details.
“Paul Walker’s wrongful death lawsuit explains that Roger Rodas was speeding, but only going 63-71 MPH when the crash happened and not 80 to 93 MPH as law enforcement claim. The car Paul and Roger were driving, a Carrera GT, careened out of control due to improper stabilization system . The force of the crash ‘snapped Walker’s torso back with thousands of pounds of force, thereby breaking his ribs and pelvis,’ according to the suit. That means, Paul was trapped, in the car. A fire then broke out 1 minute and 20 seconds after the crash, but Walker was unable to escape thanks to his injuries.”
According to the lawsuit, Paul Walker was still alive when the car came to a stop, and that a medical exam found soot in his trachea, indicating that he was still breathing when the fire broke out.

The lawsuit also alleges that Porsche’s Stability Management System was defective and caused the deadly crash, leaving Meadow Walker without her father. The defect was a known by Porsche but was never corrected, the lawsuit claims.
“The bottom line is that the Porsche Carrera GT is a dangerous car. It doesn’t belong on the street. And we shouldn’t be without Paul Walker or his friend, Roger Rodas,” Meadow Walker’s lawyer told TMZ .
