It was widely reported last week that Maroon 5 frontman Adam Levine was covered in white powder after an incident outside the Jimmy Kimmel Live TV studio . The Maroon 5 singer was covered from head to toe with the substance, later found to be powdered sugar, while signing autographs outside the L.A. studio. Levine was visibly shaken by the incident and it was later claimed that he feared the substance could have been “Anthrax” or something equally deadly.

NME is reporting that the man who attacked the Maroon 5 star has now appeared in court and has been sentenced. The Daily Mail reported that Levine’s attacker, Navid Farsi, agreed to plead “no contest” to one count of Battery in exchange for a similar charge being dropped . The second charge is believed to relate to the same incident when one of Levine’s security team was also covered in fallout from the “sugar-bomb.”

Farsi was quickly detained by security staff and was later arrested and charged with battery by LAPD following Wednesday’s attack on the Maroon 5 singer and has now appeared in court . He has been sentenced to three years of probation, 52 counseling sessions, and 20 days of community service cleaning California’s highways. Farsi has also been hit with an order requiring him to stay at least 500 yards away from Jimmy Kimmel Live studios, and a protective order banning him from approaching Adam Levine is now in place.

MTV is reporting that it is believed that Farsi’s attack on Levine was some sort of “pun” attack related to Maroon 5’s hit song “Sugar,” which has sold over 2.5 million copies worldwide. They claim that the attack on Levine is not the first incident of this kind involving Farsi. It is claimed that earlier this year, Farsi allegedly threw a rock at Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson. Contact Music reports that Farsi has also been ordered to stay away from Mr Johnson.

This latest incident involving Adam Levine is not the first frightening incident that the Maroon 5 star has been subjected to in recent months. Just a few weeks ago, an over eager fan managed to slip through Levine’s security during a Maroon 5 concert and cut the singer’s ear with a fingernail, as she tried to embrace him on stage.

Adam Levine was not hurt in the incident and was able to continue with his planned appearance on the show. Maroon 5 is currently on a break from their massive world tour in support the release of their fifth studio album. Adam and the rest of Maroon 5 will be heading to Europe in the next few days as the tour recommences in Paris, France on May 24.
