Mariah Carey’s secret record with French Montana, Justin Bieber, and now, T.I., has now arrived in full online.
A high-quality audio of the mighty Mariah, Justin, French, and T.I. letting rip on “Why You Mad? (Infinity Remix)” has just surfaced. It re-imagines Mimi’s 2015 “Infinity,” a cut from her #1 To Infinity collection of No. 1 hits.
Fast forward to the newly-surfaced just over four minute song leaked on TMZ , which kicks off with French Montana’s laconic rap. Mercifully, La Carey swoops in for the synths-laden chorus, upgrading the old “Infinity” hook with heavier beats and tons of sub bass, courtesy of producer Eric Hudson.
“Why you mad? / Talkin’ ’bout you’re mad / Could it be that you just lost the best you’ve ever had? / That’s your bag, yup, that’s too bad / Show is over, you ain’t gotta act / Close the door / Lose the key / Leave my heart on a mat for me / I was yours eternally / There’s an end to Infinity / To infinity. (sic),” Carey sings.
Justin Bieber enters stage left at 1:46 with new lyrics to deliver an impassioned 8-bars.
“It’s like every time you call me / You know I can’t leave you lonely / ‘Cause I was always there when you need me / You said that you’d be there ’til the end / What must I say / I never thought it would happen this way oh / But I can tell if you’re gone again / got my number… things til the end,” the Biebs croons convincingly.
T.I. brings up the rear with a good enough rap after Mariah returns on a chorus. The song fades on distressed beats.
We’re loving this collaboration and it’s going to be interesting to see what Mariah’s Lambily make of it. The audio follows last week’s reports that Carey had joined forces with French in a Hollywood recording studio.
After French and Mariah later posted the same photo on Instagram taken with Bieber and the Detroit producer Detail alongside the caption “Coming soon,” speculation sparked as to how the surprise line-up came to be.
TMZ subsequently reported that the Biebs had heard Mimi was in session and showed up to the studio because he is a huge fan of Carey. The pair duetted on a reworking of “All I Want for Christmas is You” in 2011.
Gossip Cop were then told Mariah was so flattered by Justin rocking up that she invited him to lay down vocals on what we now know is the “Why You Mad? (Infinity) remix.
Carey herself recently posted behind-the-scenes teases of the song to Instagram, but this new audio is the first high-quality version.
