Another day, another set of nifty Man of Steel 2 rumors. According to someone with inside information about the sequel, the Dark Knight will use robots to fight crime in the flick.
Hitman producer Daniel Alter is the latest individual to share some knowledge about director Zack Snyder’s Batman vs. Superman . If Alter’s recent tweet is accurate, then the Caped Crusader is living in seclusion inside the Batcave. Instead of fighting crime himself, Bruce Wayne uses drones to keep the bad guys off the streets.
“Can’t wait for ‘Batman vs. Superman.’ [Batman] semi-retired/not speaking to Robin anymore. Controlling drones from the Batcave,” Alter recently tweeted .
The Dark Knight’s reliance on drones is definitely in keeping with Warner Bros’ vision for Man of Steel 2 . CEO Kevin Tsujihara previously stated that Batman isn’t as spry or as willing to put his life on the line as he did during his younger days. Tsujihara described the character as “tired, weary, and seasoned.”
Jim Vejvoda, executive editor at IGN Movies , decided to pick Alter’s brain about his recent comments. When asked if the producer was simply “spitballing ideas” for Man of Steel 2 , Alter set the record straight.
“I know stuff,” he replied .
Neither Warner Bros. nor Zack Snyder have commented on the producer’s tweet just yet. It will be very interesting to see how this particular rumor plays out, especially since the studio and the director are trying to keep specific plot details under wraps for the time being.
Of course, this isn’t the only Man of Steel 2 rumor to hit the internet in recent days. AceShowbiz explains that actors Ezra Miller, Penn Badgley, and Girls star Adam Driver are reportedly up for the role of Nightwing in the upcoming sequel. This is certainly in keeping with Alter’s “not speaking to Robin anymore” scenario.
Although he starts out as Robin, Dick Grayson later becomes Nightwing in the comic books. Tired of living in Batman’s shadow, Grayson basically grows up and strikes out on his own.
The Inquisitr previously reported that Wonder Woman could make an appearance in Batman vs. Superman . Oblivion star Olga Kurylenko reportedly auditioned for the role of the superhero in the sequel. Earlier reports suggested that Jaimie Alexander was up for the part.
