Lyndsy Fonseca is a woman that has proven to be a chameleon in the acting world, just like Vincent D’Onofrio . When I first saw her, Fonseca played Katie Deauxma, who was Dave Lizewski’s girlfriend (better known as Kick-Ass) in the movie Kick-Ass and its sequel, Kick-Ass 2 . She also played Alex in the television series Nikita which finished its fourth season. Now, reports are coming in that she will be an escort… in her next role.
According to an article by Deadline , the romantic comedy The Escort found its lead in Lyndsy Fonseca. The movie is about a sex-obsessed journalist, played by Michael Doneger, who throws himself into the world of high-class escorts. He eventually meets a prostitute who is Stanford-educated (Fonseca) and that is where the interesting comedic adventures begin. One must wonder if this script was written in light of Bella Knox , the Duke student who worked on the side as a porn star to pay for her tuition.
Anyways, actors Brandon A. Cohen, Bruce Campbell, Tommy Dewey, Rumer Willis , Rachel Resheff, and Sonya Walger will round out the cast. The initial source did not state what roles these actors will play. Finally, the director is Will Slocombe.
What is unique about this movie is the plot has also been written by one of the actors: Michael Doneger. A follow-up article by We Got This Covered , stated that Doneger is hoping The Escort will prove himself as a leading man. The actor tried something similar with an indie film, This Thing with Sarah . He directed, scripted, and starred in the project, but it never made much of an impact upon release. However, it could be assumed that having Fonseca involved in The Escort gives this film a greater chance of success.
The article by the second source also had some extra tidbits about Lyndsy Fonseca outside of her roles in Kick-Ass and Nikita . Apparently, she started her career on the daytime soap opera The Young and the Restless . She also appeared throughout CBS’ How I met Your Mother and made an appearance in the raunchy comedy Hot Tub Time Machine . Ergo, the romantic comedy isn’t exactly foreign territory to her.
Finally, it should be noted that Lyndsy Fonseca is big enough to pick her roles. She isn’t exactly a struggling actor who needs to take whatever comes her way. The same can be said about Bruce Campbell and Rumer Willis. All three of them have star power and roles aren’t exactly limited so the fact that they are jumping on with The Escort means there must be more to this film than what most of us are assuming.
