Lindsay Lohan has allegedly been cautioned not to get a restraining order against her father, Michael Lohan. A Radar Online source claims the actress was advised that getting such a legal document would further the “circus” swirling around her life.
Those close to Lilo are reportedly concerned that a restraining order against Michael would keep the actress in the news cycle and make movie producers leery about hiring her for acting jobs. The former Disney star is allegedly upset about a recent intervention attempt staged by her father, according to Scallywag and Vagabond .
The Radar Online source had this to say about the estranged relationship between father and daughter:
“Lindsay is being told by her lawyers that it’s a disastrous idea for her to try and get a restraining order against her father, Michael Lohan. First of all, there is no guarantee that a judge would grant a restraining order against Michael. Michael did show up at her house and try and stage an intervention, because he believes that she is in immediate danger because of her alleged drug and alcohol addiction. That is hardly a form of harassment.”
Before an order of protection could be issued, Lindsay would have to participate in a full court hearing on the matter. During such a proceeding, her father would have the opportunity to take the witness stand and testify. The insider source also alleged that the elder Lohan could reveal information which would further damage the movie star’s reputation.
As previously reported on The Inquisitr , Lilo’s father is allegedly checking into the possibility of placing the actress under a conservatorship. Such an order would reportedly require proving Lindsay cannot care for herself or perhaps possess a serious mental health issue.
