Liam Payne and Louis Tomlinson: Solo artists?
At one point or another, fans wonder what will happen to the One Direction lads when the band comes to a close. Although the very thought is enough to cause hardcore Directioners to break out in Payne-shaped hives, chances are this scenario won’t play out anytime soon. After all, the guys are preparing to release their fourth studio album.
Of course, some folks can’t help but wonder about the future. When the 1D singers go their separate ways, who will embark on a solo career? Some people firmly believe Harry Styles and Niall Horan are already plotting their post-One Direction gigs, but what about Liam Payne and the rest of the fellas? What does the future hold for them?
During a chat with Hollywood Life , Payne and Tomlinson took a moment to discuss what will happen when the band breaks up . Unfortunately for fans seeking concrete answers, the guys danced around the question like that drunk guy at your second cousin’s wedding.
Louis at least gave a somewhat straightforward answer.
“Just having each of us, let’s be honest I personally don’t think I’d be able to do it as a solo artist. It’s very intense and hard to comprehend, so it’s good to be able to speak to people who obviously know exactly what you personally are going through.”
Liam Payne , meanwhile, nimbly avoided the inquiry altogether.
“Yeah and it’s nice to have somebody there every day who’s going through exactly the same stuff you are. It’s beautiful being in this position but it’s also difficult at times. It’s nice to have guys you can turn to.”
Entertainmentwise points out that Harry Styles said nothing about his potential solo career during the same interview. Is there a chance he has a different plan of attack than Liam and Louis? Since he’s remaining tight-lipped about his future, that’s truly anyone’s guess at the moment. But feel free to take a stab in the dark if you feel the need.
Styles’ rep previously addressed these rumors earlier this summer.
“There are no plans for Harry to release any solo music at this time, any writing that he is doing is for potential One Direction songs. It’s common knowledge that the boys write separately and bring to each other for the album.”
