Actor and comedian Larry Miller , 59, has recovered from a life-threatening brain trauma that temporarily put him into a coma.

TMZ reported back in April how Miller fell and hit his head. He’d just finished taping a podcast with fellow American radio personality, television host, comedian, and actor Adam Carolla. Miller had stepped out to take a call when he lost his footing and fell, striking the back of his head on the sidewalk. Miller was rushed to the ER and spent time in the ICU for observation.

Miller, married to TV writer and producer Eileen Conn, and father of two, has since recovered from the life-threatening brain injury, associated with the fall. Miller lapsed into a coma and spent about a month on life support at the UCLA Medical Center, until he miraculously awoke from his unconscious state. Once he regained consciousness, Miller had to undergo therapy to relearn basic cognitive functions.

Larry Miller has a diverse and humorous personality, garnering him cameos on Curb Your Enthusiasm , Seinfeld , Princess Diaries, Valentine’s Day, Pretty Woman, and for some he’s remembered as the neurotic father of the Stratford sisters in 10 Things I Hate About You . Miller has played a college dean three separate times, and is a friend of comedian Jerry Seinfeld .

Miller has also made several appearances on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, The Late Show with David Letterman and Real Time with Bill Maher.

People Magazine reports Michael Hansen, Miller’s spokesman saying:

“He was hovering between life and death. It’s a miracle he woke up. He’s lucky to be alive.”
