Part 1 of The Real Housewives of Atlanta season 7 reunion, which aired on Sunday night, showed Kandi Burruss and NeNe Leakes at odds with one another. One bone of contention between the two women was NeNe’s new friendship with Phaedra Parks. While Kandi and Phaedra grew more distant over the season, Phaedra and NeNe got closer. Phaedra herself said several times, both on the season’s episodes and in post-season media interviews, that it has been NeNe and not Kandi who has been there for her the most as she deals with Apollo Nida’s incarceration and the decision to divorce him.
As the reunion aired, Kandi denied that she’s jealous of NeNe’s new friendship with Phaedra. In response to a viewer who tweeted that Kandi needs to learn that NeNe is a grown woman who can talk to Phaedra if she wants and is just jealous, Kandi responded that she doesn’t care if NeNe and Phaedra talk so long as she’s not the topic of conversation.

Kandi also shared that she was ready to defend herself against NeNe’s accusations at the reunion.

Kandi Burruss has made it clear that she’s not pleased with Phaedra Parks talking to some of the other women, especially NeNe Leakes, about their friendship. As previously reported by the Inquisitr, in mid-March, Kandi criticized Phaedra for not talking to her directly first about how she felt about their friendship.
In a blog post from early March, Kandi expressed skepticism of NeNe’s new friendship with Phaedra. Kandi reminded everyone of the wrongs that NeNe has done to Phaedra over the years.
“Of course I’m skeptical. NeNe has been nice these last few months, but that does not make me forget the years of drama and insults that have come from her in the past. Yes, I get that people change, but it’s OK for me to proceed with caution as I would’ve thought Phaedra would. Well, hopefully things will continue to be great with them and NeNe can continue to be Phaedra’s rock.”
During Part 1 of The Real Housewives of Atlanta season 7 reunion show, NeNe Leakes confirmed to host Andy Cohen that she was talking about Kandi Burruss when she recently tweeted about her number one hater on the show. Kandi fired back that NeNe is the biggest hater of all. Kandi then revealed, clearly as a warning to Phaedra Parks, that NeNe has forwarded private text messages between her and Cynthia Bailey, as well as between her and Kim Zolciak, after the demise of those friendships simply to cause drama. Kandi added that she simply doesn’t like NeNe’s superiority complex.
“What I’m saying is you’ve shown a side where you’ll blast a person with information that you know about them if ya’ll no longer friends…I don’t like your superior stank a** attitude at times but when you’re fun and you’re laughing at times, I love that.”
