The latest episode of The Real Housewives of Atlanta was probably a very hard one for Kandi Burruss to watch. That’s because a big part of Sunday night’s episode was about Kandi’s deteriorating friendship with Phaedra Parks.
Kandi tweeted her reaction to the episode , making clear that she’s not pleased with Phaedra’s behavior.
While they were talking about me being a bad friend I had no idea that Phaedra felt that way. Shouldn’t she have told me instead of them?

On the previous episode, Porsha Williams and NeNe Leakes questioned to Phaedra why Kandi didn’t do anything to defend her when Cynthia Bailey and Kenya Moore brought up, during a group dinner, Apollo Nida’s accusation that she was cheating on him with a “Mr. Chocolate.” Phaedra herself questioned Kandi’s non-action.
The latest episode continued the talk about whether Kandi has been a true friend to Phaedra. In one scene, Phaedra tells NeNe that out of everyone in the group, she has been there for her the most. Phaedra, almost in tears, says that she thought it would’ve been Kandi who was most supportive because she has been there for Kandi.
In another scene, Kandi sits in Phaedra’s office to talk about what’s going on between them. Phaedra admits to Kandi that she thought that their friendship was tighter. With tears streaming down her face, Kandi tells Phaedra that she has been going through her own issues, namely the fact that her tour was canceled and she had to tell people they didn’t have jobs anymore.
While Kandi acknowledges that what Phaedra’s going through is a whole bigger situation, Kandi points out that Phaedra didn’t reach out to her, either, when the tour was canceled. Phaedra later tells the camera that Kandi was talking about a business deal that went wrong but she’s still a millionaire. Phaedra adds that she has a shortage of friends who she can count on, and that’s what she thought Kandi was.
In reaction to that, Kandi retweeted a fan’s tweet saying that Kandi wasn’t worried about the money she was losing but was worried about the people who were put out of jobs.
As previously reported by the Inquisitr , Kandi wrote in a recent blog post that she has defended Phaedra and argued for her even against her own husband, Todd Tucker, who is good friends with Apollo Nida.
Does Phaedra still consider Kandi a friend now? During her appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show in mid-October, 2014, Phaedra Parks was asked to quickly describe her The Real Housewives of Atlanta co-stars. For NeNe Leakes, Phaedra said, “Genuine. She has really been the most supportive through this whole situation.” As for Porsha Williams, Phaedra said that she’s a “survivor.”
When it came time for Kandi Burruss, Phaedra Parks smiled and said, “My buddy. ” Shortly after that appearance, the cast went to the Philippines and filming for the seventh season ended around November. So it seems that at least from Phaedra’s perspective, they’re still friends. Yet, the truth about the current state of their friendship may very well come out on the upcoming Season 7 reunion filming.
