Fans of Kaley Cuoco-Sweeting don’t need to be told she has a big heart. This week, that heart was displayed in spades as The Big Bang Theory star reached out to a special fan. It only took some modern technology and a few social media connections.
As Us reported, Kaley’s friend Nikki Lund told her about Nicole, a 13-year-old who loves The Big Bang Theory. Lund alerted Kaley to an Instagram post with a picture of Nicole wearing one of Sheldon’s classic t-shirts.
The post explained that Nicole is in “the final stages of her life due to cancer.” Nicole’s family wanted to create a memory for her and asked for a video message from the folks at The B ig Bang Theory .
Kaley was only too happy to oblige. According to Lund, she said yes immediately and pulled an all-nighter so she could connect with Nicole, who lives in the United Kingdom. Kaley praised Nicole’s family in a statement to Us.
“When I heard Nicole’s story and how much she loved ‘Big Bang Theory,’ I just had to connect with her in some way. Through her amazing family, and help from people like Nikki and others, we were able to FaceTime and send little videos straight to Nicole — her two thumbs up was a sure sign that, at least for a moment, she was happy. She is lucky to have such an amazing family and I felt honored to share in such a wonderful moment.”
Actor Cassie Scerbo also helped Cuoco connect with Nicole and posted part of the video she taped for the young fan. She gushed in her caption about the magic of Nicole’s wish coming to fruition.
“[Kaley] you are a true legend. Thank you so much for your optimism and radiance. You are such a kind soul… I can’t wait to post Nicole’s reaction!
Kaley has always been willing to lend a hand to causes she supports. She is a known advocate for the rights of animals and has several rescue dogs. This past March she held a fundraiser for the Humane Society of the United States. Recently she posed on Instagram with a charity t-shirt to support her friend’s initiative to fight elephant poaching.
Nikki Lund told Us that she’s petitioning Kaley’s Big Bang Theory co-stars to reach out to Nicole as well to make her wish even greater.
