Amanda Bynes officially pleaded not guilty to hit-and-run charges today during a short proceeding in a Van Nuys, California courtroom. The Hairspray actress was not present during the highly-anticipated hearing, a plea was entered by an attorney acting on her behalf. The judge ordered Bynes to turn herself in for booking and a photo session in the mug shot room. She has until October 21, to come to the police station and get the tasks completed.
The Nickelodeon star is facing a total of five criminal charges in Los Angeles. Amanda was pulled over for allegedly driving while intoxicated, two separate hit-and-run charges, and two counts of driving on a suspended license, according to Radar Online .
Acknowledging that L.A. is a difficult town to live without a driver’s license, the actress packed her bags and headed to the Big Apple to start a new life, E! Online notes. The beleaguered star has once again announced that she is retiring from acting and is reportedly planning on moving forward with a career in the fashion industry.
A Radar Online source had this to say about the relocated actress:
“Amanda isn’t required to be in court so she has gone to New York City and says she plans on making it a permanent move. She thinks she can live a more normal life on the East Coast and won’t be hounded by paps.”
Perhaps Ms. Bynes should have a little convo with Katie Holmes about the presence of paparazzi in New York City before she lays out some cash for an apartment security deposit. Depending upon the outcome of her hit-and-run charges, Amanda Bynes may have only orange jumpsuits to focus her fashion expertise upon in the near future.
