Jill Dillard is about to add to the 19 Kids and Counting clan, and she and husband Derick are making sure their little one starts out on the right path.
The 19 Kids and Counting star and fourth-oldest Duggar sibling has been collecting Bible verses to encourage herself for pregnancy and delivery. This weekend she Instagrammed a picture of herself and husband Derick with verses from Deuteronomy and Isaiah.
“Writing out bible verses for encouragement during pregnancy, labor and delivery!” she captioned the shot.
Jill Dillard has been preparing herself both spiritually and physically. Just a few days before sharing her shot of Bible verses, the former Duggar daughter showed followers her top pregnancy craving — cooked green beans.
Derick has been doing plenty of preparation as well. Last month, he explained to the Christian Post that he’s been working hard to become an example for his unborn child.
“For a daughter, I want to show her how a man should treat her, just like Jill’s dad did for her,” he explained. “And just be the best dad I can be to both my sons and daughters and really purpose to teach them the Word of God early on and pray that they will come to the Lord early in life. And helping them be open, not afraid to come to us about anything.”
When she was still Jill Duggar, the 19 Kids and Counting star followed her parents’ example in taking a very slow courtship with Derick Dillary. The pair were not allowed to hold hands until they were engaged, and at least two members of the Duggar family chaperoned their in-person and Skype dates.
“Both of our parents have had the hearts of their children, knowing that they can come to them and talk about anything,” Jill told the Christian Post . “And then, just really leading by example and purposing to have a Godly marriage and one that is focused on the Lord. And hopefully the children will learn to fear God and be a servant of all.”
Jill Dillard added that she’s excited to think about becoming a parent, saying she’s prepared her whole life by taking care of her Duggar siblings — something 19 Kids and Counting viewers already know firsthand.
