I Am Cait was supposed to do great things for the E! network. When it was originally announced, there was heavy criticism about putting Caitlyn Jenner on television with her own reality show. For so long, people only knew her as Bruce, but those days are long gone. Being transgender isn’t something that is widely accepted, and Jenner believed that by doing I Am Cait , she would be able to help others in the same position as she found herself in.
Because Caitlyn Jenner was linked to the Kardashian family for so long, the network likely thought I Am Cait would bring in great ratings. That was true for the first season of the reality show, which quickly got renewed for a second season. Since the show ended, it has been hanging in limbo. According to Reality Tea , I Am Cait has been canceled after only two seasons. The second season didn’t bring in the ratings that the first was able to garner. There hasn’t been too much disappointment across social media, which is shocking because of the following Jenner has. Despite being on the popular Keeping Up With the Kardashians , Caitlyn Jenner wasn’t able to keep herself afloat in the world of reality television.
There was heavy criticism for I Am Cait when it was announced. Being transgender is not widely accepted, and many people still aren’t on board with believing it is real. Caitlyn Jenner has done various speaking engagements across the country to try and promote awareness and to lessen the hate that comes along with being transgender. It is a heavy political issue, and some of that was discussed during a few episodes on I Am Cait . Before the transition, Jenner was a staunch Republican. This has lead to several debates among her friends, who are mostly Democrats and back Hillary Clinton over Donald Trump. Jenner is reportedly backing Trump, much to the dismay of her friends.
While I Am Cait was filming, rumors of a romance between Caitlyn Jenner and Candis Cayne were brewing. The two were always together and she was almost seen as much as Jenner was on the show. There was never a confirmation about an actual relationship but there were reportedly a few steamy moments shared between the two. Jenner hasn’t been upfront about any new people in her life since her divorce from Kris Jenner. That was a rollercoaster ride and there was definitely some bad blood between the two because of how everything went down. Jenner may be part of the Kardashian family but she sure doesn’t have the celebrity status they do.
With news of the cancellation of I Am Cait , fans want to know what is next for Caitlyn Jenner. She has made it clear she enjoys public speaking about being transgender and making her story known. Jenner has taken part in a lot of events to better the LGBT community, but some of them still are skeptical about her. She received a lot of backlash from them because of her political views. It was discussed on Season 2 of I Am Cait . While it likely won’t change, at least she has brought awareness to a very real issue people all over are facing.
Fans will miss I Am Cait and following Caitlyn Jenner around in her everyday life. With all of her children grown and out of the house, there is plenty of mischief she can find. There is hope that Jenner will be shown on Keeping Up With the Kardashians from time to time as she has been in the past. While I Am Cait may have failed, it helped to get the transgender word out there and into the hands of people who needed to know they were not alone.
