Apparently in response to the growing list of congressional Republicans turning their backs on his anti-tax pledge , Grover Norquist issued a warning to President Obama that the next incarnation of the Tea Party will be bigger and more politically affluent than the first.

Elected officials continue to duke it out over the “fiscal cliff,” and, though those negotiations haven’t shown much promise thus far, perhaps the most significant movement has been that of congressional Republicans away from Americans for Tax Reform President Grover Norquist, who is arguably at the center of the conversation.

During a Sunday roundtable discussion on NBC’s Meet The Press , Norquist issued a personal warning to President Obama.

“Tea party two is going to dwarf tea party one if Obama pushes us off the cliff,” Norquist said. “Let’s not pretend who’s pushing us over the cliff.”

Signing Norquist’s anti-tax pledge has long been something of an unspoken requirement for congressional Republicans. It holds that no elected signatory shall ever raise taxes on the American people under any circumstance. In the most recent talks, Norquist has become a target for both Democrats and Republicans alike, with the former actively petitioning against him and the latter distancing themselves from his controversial pledge.

Senators Saxby Chambliss and Lindsey Graham have led the charge away from Norquist’s tax pledge. Despite these movements, Norquist said last Monday that “nobody is turning on me,” reports the AP .
