Google loves Pac-Man, and it loves screwing with us on April Fool’s Day. So it has combined the two and turned the world into a sprawling vintage arcade game.
This fun treat is logically – and wonderfully – called “ PAC-Maps ” and allows time-wasters to munch dots and chase ghosts down the world’s streets. Google calls it “our most ambitious update yet,” CBS News reported.
Users can even take Blinky, Inky, Pinky and Clyde to Capitol Hill, the Washington Post added.
Of course, finding it won’t prove that easy. Pac-Man only appears if users are in the right spot in Google Maps. Start the search by heading to the app, picking a grid of preferred streets and then clicking on the game window.
If you’re lucky, the virtual streets will be filled with dots waiting to be eaten, from Manhattan to Cairo. In places without a street grid, users will come face to face with a special surprise twist. And in places that don’t support the game, Google can get you back on track with this set of clues, provided by CBS :

- Chomp your way to independence down seven lanes of July.
- PAC-MAN and Ms. PAC-MAN can’t agree on which side is prettier: the American or the Canadian. Which side do you fall on, eh?
- After a chat with the Sphinx, PAC-MAN sounds more like “Dokki Dokki”.
- Pause game play to admire Chagall’s stained glass windows and have a bit of chocolate.
- Can you score 10^(10^100) points?
- Whether they’re flashing blue or sporting their natural colors, Blinky, Pinky, Inky, and Clyde are always kakkoii. Even Vogue agrees they’re living in the trendiest of neighborhoods.
- Previous PAC-MAN lives don’t get to rest in a white marble mausoleum.
- Head to the valley of the sun and earn your grade in the art of the game.
- How well can you navigate the radiating streets of the distrito federal?
- Victory is like gothic glockenspiel musik to our ears.
- Pay special attention to Blinky – he might blend in with the dreaming red kangaroos!
