As previously reported by the Inquisitr , former president George H.W. Bush was rushed to Houston Methodist Hospital for shortness of breath and was kept overnight as precaution.
On Twitter, Bush spokesman, Jim McGrath , posted an update on the former president’s condition, saying that while he is being kept at the hospital for a fourth night, he is doing better.
President Bush remains in high spirits and continues to make progress, but he will remain at the Houston Methodist Hospital this evening.

This is not the first time George H.W. Bush had to remain in a hospital on Christmas Day. Back in 2012, the Inquisitr reported that Bush was hospitalized for bronchitis on November 23 of that year. After spending 52 days in the hospital, Bush was released in January of 2013.
In a statement via CNN , George H.W. Bush’s chief of staff, Jean Becker, said this current hospitalization is not as bad as the one from 2012.
“The Bush family certainly appreciates all your prayers, love and concern. This is not two years ago. It’s a hiccup. He should come home in a few days.”
According to ABC News , White House Spokesperson Eric Schultz issued a statement saying that President Obama and his wife knew of Bush’s hospitalization.
“The President has been made aware that President Bush was admitted to the hospital. President Obama and the First Lady send their good wishes to the former President and the entire Bush family during this holiday season.”
Chelsea Clinton also sent her best wishes to George H.W. Bush.
Wishing President Bush a safe & speedy recovery. My thoughts & prayers are with him & all who are sick this holiday season & their families.

Even though he’s 90 years old and suffers from a form of Parkinson’s disease, George H.W. Bush is still active. Earlier this year, the Inquisitr reported that he celebrated his birthday by skydiving .
