Computer game millionaire Richard Garriott is now in space as a paying tourist of the Soyuz TMA-13 spacecraft.

Being a tourist though does not mean that he will just be lying around looking at others do their work. He will be spending the 10 days that he paid by conducting experiments and taking photos of Earth to measure changes since his father, Owen Garriott, took pictures from Skylab as an astronaut in 1973.

Garriott, a self-taught programmer, made fortune by developing computer games, mostly fantasy games. He is obviously living now his own fantasy.

He returns to Earth on October 24 after reportedly paying $30 million, a paltry sum now because of the economic downturn (though most of us still can’t afford it).
