A Friends reunion has been on the minds of Friends fans ever since the show ended, after being a television phenomenon through the 1990s and into the 2000s. Fans came to know and love the gang that hung out at Central Perk and let us into their crazy lives. But, what about bringing them all back – Monica, Rachel, Joey, Phoebe, Chandler, and Ross – in a Friends reunion?
As reported by Mirror , according to Friends co-creator Marta Kaufman , it will never happen.
“There will never ever – it’s not to going to happen. They have to let it go.”
Kaufman went on to say that the show was about capturing a certain time in a person’s life, and now that it’s gone, the show wouldn’t have a reason to exist.
“Friends is about that time in your life when your friends are your family. Once you start having a family, that changes. And you have new groups. It’s not that you don’t love those people anymore, but it changes.”
What does the cast think about the possibility of a reunion? Well, we nearly had one on Ellen , to the hilarity of, well, everyone! It was a great skit that brought Jennifer Aniston, Matthew Perry, and Courtney Cox together again and had the audience in stitches.
But Jennifer Aniston said no, a reunion is not going to happen. Matthew Perry also tweeted that there was no truth to the rumor of a Friends reunion.

One cast member that would love to see a Friends reunion is James Michael Tyler, who played the barista, Gunther. While he knows there are no plans in the works to have a Friends reunion, he has his own idea of a way to bring back the Friends world while moving on from the family-bound original set of characters.
Tyler’s idea? As reported by RadioTimes , he suggests doing a show about their kids .
“How about this? And this is not going to happen – it’s all speculative, I shouldn’t even say anything about it… It’s just, if I was going to do something like that, how about the children of Friends ? What happened to Ben and Emma and people like that? That might be an idea.”
While the definite “no” on a Friends reunion may come as a blow to die-hard fans, at least they will always have the 237 episodes of the series to watch again and again. And, who knows, with so many other reunions and reboots happening, maybe the powers that be will change their minds one day.
