Million Dollar Listing: New York star Fredrik Eklund loves selling a good property. Eklund loves the thrill of negotiating and he loves to close a deal. Fans have seen this on the show several times. And yet, Fredrik is missing something in his life. Eklund married the love of his life, Derek Kaplan, on a previous episode of the show, but Derek wasn’t eager to start a family, as he was concerned that he would be forced to become a stay-at-home dad.
But something must have changed in the home, as Fredrik Eklund is getting what he wants. Maybe his husband saw the changes he wanted in the home.
According to a new Bravo report, Fredrik Eklund is now revealing that he is super excited about becoming a father.
“It’s been the goal for the majority of my adult life,” Fredrik has said, adding that the daughter is arriving via a surrogate “very soon.”
This is great news for the Million Dollar Listing star, who has wanted a child for years. Fredrik has often talked about the blue-eyed, brown-haired daughter he would raise in New York with his husband. It sounds like Milla is going to arrive soon. No word on when the due date is or if their surrogate is living in New York.
“I’ve always known that I would have a daughter and her name would be Milla,” Fredrik Eklund has revealed, adding, “I have butterflies, I can’t think, I can’t sleep. I’m just so in love with her.”
Just last year, Fredrik revealed that they were going forward with their surrogate plans. It sounds like the reunion special was rough on Eklund, who was forced to face the fact that he needed a lifestyle change if he wanted a child.
“We have so much to celebrate, and yes, we are going to have kids and we are moving forward (!!!) and with that said we need to capture some last romantic getaways for just two. I’m so glad I gave it some time, waiting isn’t my strong side, but we are now both ready. Anyway, we are sending you much love from paradise… #Milla,” Fredrik Eklund shared last year on Instagram, which could have been posted around the time that they chose their surrogate.
According to the Inquisitr , Fredrik Eklund has been preparing for this baby arrival for quite some time. Eklund recently moved out of the apartment he once surprised with his husband with, and has been planning to move into a brand new loft.
And it sounds like Fredrik Eklund can afford it. Apparently, Fredrik is worth upwards of $30 million, so maybe he just wanted to reach a certain income level before slowing down to start a family.
