With Fourth of July just around the corner, there are a lot of reasons to look forward to the holiday. Many towns are offering lavish displays of fireworks, the recipes available look more delicious than ever, and there are many events available for those who want to do more than just have the traditional holiday barbecue. New movies like Behind the Mask make it possible to enjoy a relaxing time in the cool while celebrating the American Revolution.

For those who are looking to do some shopping on Fourth of July, U.S. News & World Report listed “ eight sizzling sales .” It includes everything from appliances to electronics, and even some last minute travel deals for those who are looking to get away this summer.

Shopping online is part of the package for Fourth of July, and since so many stores now offer sites online, it’s possible to get the best deals online because of the low overhead. Free shipping, home delivery, and steep discounts are available, particularly for those who are looking for appliances.

With all of the fireworks celebrations available, it hardly makes sense to have your own fireworks . After all, attending a fireworks show is usually free, and many cities will tell residents where to go to get the best views of the fireworks. For those who want to host their own, though, it’s a good idea to check out the city ordinances first to find out what fireworks are acceptable for your Fourth of July celebration, according to the Washington Post .

The Travel Channel released its list of its favorite Fourth of July celebrations , and where to go to watch the best fireworks displays. They included big cities like Boston and small towns in Texas, as well as celebrations across the country. One consideration for making plans for the Fourth of July weekend is travel.

According to Andria Simmons of the Atlanta Journal & Constitution , AAA announced that there would be approximately 42 million people on the roads between the Wednesday and Sunday of the Fourth of July weekend. The most popular form of travel will be driving, as 35.5 million will drive to get to their destinations. For many, the price of gas is cheaper than it has been in five years.

The Fourth of July celebrations aren’t without their perils, though. According to former CIA deputy director Michael Morrell, and a senior security consultant for CBS , this year the United States could face terrorist attacks from ISIS.

“I wouldn’t be surprised if we’re sitting here a week from today talking about an attack over the weekend in the United States. That’s how serious this is.”

Morrell stated that the reason Americans needed to be more concerned this Fourth of July is because of a recent security bulletin put out by the FBI and Homeland Security. He also stated that there was an increase in the number of Americans who were aligning themselves with the terrorist state.

“There’s been about 50 people in the last 12 months who have been arrested in the United States for being radicalized by ISIS, wanting to go fight there or wanting to conduct an attack here.”
