A bus driver in Broward County Florida may be facing disciplinary hearings for throwing a 16 year old kid off her school bus for having a grand mall seizure. The boy, Andrew Shepard, suffers from a seizure disorder called Addison’s disease and is also a diabetic. If not for the intervention of concerned neighbors the whole incident could have ended much worse.

Andrew Shepard’s little sister Jazmen saw the entire incident and related what had happened to her mother. She says her brother began having the seizure and the bus driver told him to settle down. Because he was in the middle of a massive seizure he didn’t respond to repeated calls to settle down and the driver had him carried off the bus and thrown onto the side of the road. The driver then closed the door and drove away ignoring calls to call 911.

Cynthia Shepard, Andrew Shepard’s mother, told WSVN-TV news:

“He looked my child in his face and told him to get off the bus. How do you do that? The bus driver “left my son pretty much to die. If my daughter was not here, my son wouldn’t be here today.”

Jazmen Shepard called over some neighbors when they were on the side of the road and they called 911. Paramedics arrived to the scene and confirmed that Andrew Shepard was in diabetic shock.

Officials at the Broward County School board have told reporters that they are not able to comment on what the driver was thinking because he is off for a few days. They stressed that the driver’s vacation had nothing to do with the incident. There has been no statement on whether the driver will face any consequences or be called in front of hearing or not.

What do you think should happen to this bus driver? Should he be allowed to drive children anymore or not?
