Seventeen-year-old Eminem fan Gage Garmo has passed away one day after the rap icon paid a visit to his home in Rochester, Michigan.
As previously reported by the Inquisitr , the Eminem fan was only given a week to live after a recent diagnosis revealed that he had Osteosarcoma, a rare form of bone cancer. When Eminem paid a visit, the two talked about numerous things, including school, football, and a recent concert of the rap artist’s that Garmo had attended.
According to Bang Showbiz , Garmo passed away on Monday from the deadly disease, nearly 24 hours after Eminem had paid a visit. His 18th birthday would have been Friday.
The visit was arranged by Rainbow Connection, which grants wishes to children that are battling life-threatening illnesses. Prior to Garmo’s death, Mary Grace McCarter, executive director for the charity, had praised Eminem for being able to meet with the fan.
”We’re so glad we were able to reach Eminem’s people and they were able to respond, and Eminem was able on such short notice to go and see this boy in his own home. It says something about everybody, really. I hope all the students and friends of Gage feel good about their well-wishes too.”
It all initially started as a campaign on Twitter. According to TMZ , Gage’s friends started the hashtag #GetGageGarmoToMeetEminem. The hashtag went viral , and, obviously, Eminem responded by paying a visit to the fan’s house, which is only about 20 minutes away from where the rap icon lives.

But Eminem didn’t make a huge ordeal out of the visit. There was no press present, and Eminem had not told his Twitter followers the time or day he was going to pay the fan a visit. He ended up arriving to the house at 5 p.m. on Sunday and stayed with the fan for about an hour.
