Billie Eilish is turning out to be the ‘Bad Guy’ in a lot of wealthy people’s narratives. The singer recently called out Elon Musk for allegedly failing to use his wealth to make the world a better place. The Tesla founder clapped back at the Grammy-winner with a snarky 8-word comeback.
Billie Eilish has criticized several wealthy people over the past month. The 23-year-old previously called on billionaires to share their wealth with the world while emphasizing how it would be of help, especially given the times we are living in.

It all started at the WSJ Magazine Innovator Awards. When she received the Music Innovator Award at the ceremony, she took her acceptance speech as an opportunity to pass on an important plea.
“We’re in a time right now where the world is really, really bad and really dark, and people need empathy and help more than, kind of, ever, especially in our country,” she was heard saying while several wealthy people sat in the audience.
She continued speaking about how it would be great if people with money put it towards causes that need attention. Billie urged the billionaires in the room to donate it to causes and use their wealth to help people in need.
“Love you all, but there’s a few people in here that have a lot more money than me. If you’re a billionaire, why are you a billionaire? No hate, but yeah, give your money away, shorties,” she added while concluding her speech.
The singer then took to her Instagram stories to call out Elon Musk. She went on to post several screenshots to her story that showed how much of a change the billionaire can bring about if he donated to causes.
In her stories, Billie claimed that $40 billion donation a year from Musk could solve world hunger, save endangered animal species, and rebuild Gaza. “The singer used expletive language while also calling him “pathetic” and a “coward.”
Billie caught Musk’s attention, who then took to X (formerly known as Twitter) to slam her. The Tesla CEO replied to a thread that reposted the singer’s stories with a brutal comeback.
“She’s not the sharpest tool in the shed,” he simply replied while ignoring her plea. The response evoked varying responses from netizens. “Her and all of her super rich celebrity friends can come together to do a lot of great things for people. Can’t rely on the Elon Musks in the world,” a person wrote on Instagram.

“I so agree with her,” another wrote while siding with the singer. Musk isn’t the only billionaire who addressed the singer’s concerns. A spokesperson for Mark Zuckerberg and his wife, Priscilla, revealed how the couple had been doing their fair share of giving back.
The spokesperson noted that the Facebook CEO and his wife were founders of the Chan Zuckerberg Initiative. “Through CZI, they have already contributed more than $7 billion to various causes and have pledged to donate 99 percent of their Meta shares to philanthropy over their lifetime,” they added.
