EJ Johnson is happy about his recent weight loss of more than 100 pounds. The son of Magic Johnson , at 22, is now half of his former size after weight loss surgery, reported Wonderwall .
Now starring in Rich Kids of Beverly Hills , EJ chose to use weight loss surgery to help him shed the weight. He’s eager to reveal just how much he’s lost.
“It’s definitely somewhere far over 100,” EJ informed Wendy Williams on her show. “I mean like literally almost half my size.”
But the 22-year-old also wants to make it clear that he regards the surgery as only one part of his weight wars.
“It was a tool. And I think that it was something that really helped me jump start the life I definitely wanted to lead. I wanted to be the best me I can be and that’s always something I wanted to do. It’s something that I struggled with and I needed that push in the right direction. And now my mindset is completely change… I’m holding on to the new me!”
As for Rich Kids of BH , the reality TV show became a breakout success for the E! Network, reported Business Insider .
And while the cast has changed since the first season, the premise remains the same. It’s based on the Rich Kids Of Instagram Tumblr, which features kids who have uber-rich parents showing off everything from yachts to diamonds to the most expensive champagne in the world.
When E! producers and casting directors contacted “fun-employed” heiress Dorothy Wang, she immediately went for the idea.
“When Rich Kids Of Instagram launched, I was one of the main people they featured on the site. I was one of the first people they put on the Tumblr and then they kept putting me on it. So I was approached after producers at the network saw me on the Tumblr page and from there they asked me, ‘Would you ever want to do a reality show?’ and I responded, ‘Honestly, I thought I was living a reality show the last seven years of my life. Thank God cameras are going to be there so I’m not just posing into thin air for myself.’”
For EJ, in addition to showing off his weight loss success , starring in Rich Kids of Beverly Hills has been an opportunity to make new friends who empathize with his situation as being recognized only as the son of someone famous, as the Inquisitr reported.
Others in the Rich Kids cast include Dorothy Wang, Jonny Drubel, and Taylor-Ann Hasselhoff. EJ reveals that people get more excited about the fact that Magic Johnson is his father than in meeting him.
“People are always just going to like freak out and then people will come up to me and be like ‘In that game in like 85, your dad did this’ and I’m like ‘Yeah, I don’t know,’” he confessed.
