Danielle Panabaker, the actress who will be playing Caitlin in the upcoming CW Network series The Flash , recently discussed her role in a new featurette.

In related reports by The Inquisitr , Grant Gustin , of Glee fame, was cast as Barry Allen. Later on, teaser pictures of Gustin wearing the mask , and later on the entire costume , of The Flash were released. More hype for the show was built when the CW Network finally released the show’s extended trailer .

According to Mstarz News , Danielle’s character, Caitlin Stone, is part of the S.T.A.R. Labs team who are trying to figure out how an ordinary man struck by lightning can gain incredible speed all of a sudden. For those who are not DC Comics-savvy, The acronym in S.T.A.R. Labs stands for Scientific and Technological Research. Honestly, I don’t know where the “A” is supposed to be. Anyways, the research facility has no connections to the government or any other corporation, though they find themselves in league with Lex Luthor, who secretly funds the research.

Prior to The Flash , Caitlin Stone (Danielle Panabaker) originally appeared in Arrow , which is the series The Flash spun off of. S.T.A.R. Labs is first introduced in that series. There is no word if the actors and actresses appearing right now on Arrow for The Flash will be pulling double duty in acting for both shows, but if they do, Danielle will be one of them.

In a special interview with IGN , Danielle Panabaker, along with Carlos Valdes, talk about their characters, what it was like to be on Arrow , and the direction S.T.A.R. Labs is going.

As of now, The Flash is slated to air on Tuesdays at 8 p.m., which is a good time slot for a new series, especially one that is a spin-off to an already-established, already-popular series. It is good they avoided both Thursday and Friday since both of those days are notorious for terrible viewership. Actually, Friday is known as the “Friday Night Death Slot” because it is the perceived “graveyard” slot in American television, or the slot that shows air on to die.

So what are you looking forward to when The Flash finally airs on the CW Network? Let us know in the comments below.
