Christina Applegate dumped Brad Pitt in the 1980s, but on WWHL, the actress wasn’t too happy about digging up the past.
In an interview with Andy Cohen on Sunday’s episode of Watch What Happens Live , the 43-year-old actress was grilled on three questions, with the chance to “plead the fifth” on one of them. Unfortunately for Christina, she used her pass on a question about the most well-endowed actor she’s worked with, leaving her open when a question about Brad Pitt came up.
Applegate and Pitt dated briefly back in the late 1980s, appearing together at the 1989 MTV Video Music Awards. As the story goes, Christina dumped Brad at the show for another man, and Cohen was determined to find out who it was.
“Who was the guy that you ditched Brad Pitt for?” Cohen asked.
Christina Applegate asked to plead the fifth again, but Cohen digged further, asking the man was someone well-known.
“I have to say it? I don’t have to do nothin’. I don’t have to do anything. I don’t have to do nothin’,” she answered.
Christina Applegate gave a bit more information, saying the man was not an actor but was known to the public, and that the two didn’t end up dating after Christina dumped Brad for him. She never did reveal the man’s identity, however.
Applegate had dished on her Brad Pitt snub before the WWHL appearance. In an interview with People, Christina admitted that she left Brad high and dry at the award show.
“We went to the MTV Movie Awards and I ditched him. I left with somebody else!” she said (via the Mail Online ).
Brad seemed to recover from being ditched. From there Pitt went on to date Juliette Lewis for several years, then dated Gwyneth Paltrow before dating (and eventually marrying) Jennifer Aniston. After they split, he married Angelina Jolie.
Christina Applegate is also married with children. She and Martyn LeNoble, who have a 2-year-old daughter, Sadie Grace, together, were married in 2013.

Applegate, 41, and LeNoble, 43, a founding member of the band Porno for Pyros, have been together since 2008. They got engaged on Valentine’s Day in 2010.
This is the second marriage for both. Applegate – an Emmy winner best known for her work on Married … with Children and recently Up All Night – was married to actor, writer and director Johnathon Schaech for six years, until their divorce in 2007.
The next time Christina Applegate goes on WWHL, she may want to save the “plead the fifth” for questions about Brad Pitt.
