Chick-fil-A has a new item on its menu just in time for spring and summer, and it is sure to please. The food chain has come up with a frozen treat that includes lemonade and vanilla ice cream. The new item is already available nationwide for sale in all of Chick-fil-A’s 1,850 restaurants in 41 U.S. states and the District of Columbia.
ABC News reported that Chick-fil-A’s Frosted Lemonade is made by combining two of its favorites items — the fast selling fresh-squeezed lemonade and Chick-fil-A’s signature Icedream soft-serve ice cream — to come up with a brand new treat. The company released the new menu item at restaurants nationwide on Monday.
After learning that customers were combining the two items on their own, Chick-fil-A decided to test their creation in several places. WSB-TV announced that the new item was tested in Sacramento, California, Raleigh, North Carolina, Charleston, South Carolina and northwest Arkansas last year. Chick-fil-A made its decision to launch Frosted Lemonade based on positive feedback from customers who tested the product.
The restaurant admits that it never thought of combining the two ingredients to make such a delicious new treat. Officials say it is not a milkshake or a smoothie, so they are calling it “Frosted Lemonade.” Employees came up with the idea for the refreshing beverage to enjoy on their breaks. They are thrilled that others will be able to experience the great taste they had been enjoying for a while.
Chick-fil-A realizes people are health conscious so they have two recipes for Frosted Lemonade. Therefore, the new treat is available in regular and diet. The lemonade is made daily from fresh lemon juice, pure cane sugar and water. Icedream is a soft-serve ice cream with a very distinct vanilla flavor.
Regular Frosted Lemonade contains 330 calories while diet Frosted Lemonade is made with Splenda and has 240 calories. The 16-ounce serving size costs $2.69.
