Brad Pitt is not using Angelina Jolie’s past psychiatric records to win custody of their kids, despite a rumor started by the print edition of In Touch . Gossip Cop summarizes their story.
“These issues are well behind Jolie, but that hasn’t stopped In Touch from publishing a false report claiming Pitt is using these ‘secrets’ in their custody battle. Of course, there’s nothing secretive about any of this information…The magazine’s seemingly phony insider further purports that Jolie’s old psych records will provide the foundation and a road map for the judge to rely on.”
Gossip Cop notes that In Touch also recycled the narrative that Jolie initiated the divorce over rumors Brad Pitt had been hooking up with French actress Marion Cotillard and said that Jolie had many breakdowns over her suspicions about the affair with his Allied co-star. However, Gossip Cop says that the story is complete bogus.
“Brad Pitt is NOT using Angelina Jolie’s 16-year-old psychiatric records to win custody of their six kids, despite an inaccurate tabloid cover story. Gossip Cop can exclusively correct this claim. We’re told it’s not true,” says gossip-busting columnist Andrew Shuster, who adds that a reliable source says that mental health evaluations of both parents are completely standard.
This rumor follows another major one regarding Angelina Jolie. After Billy Bob Thornton told Playboy that he is interested in working with Brad Pitt, Celebrity Dirty Laundry assumed that Angelina Jolie felt betrayed by Thornton. However, Gossip Cop once again stepped in to clear up the rumor.
“Angelina Jolie does NOT feel ‘betrayed’ by Billy Bob Thornton for saying he wants to work with Brad Pitt, despite an inaccurate webloid report. Gossip Cop can exclusively correct this claim. We’re told it’s not true,” claimed columnist Andrew Shuster, who added that the webloid also falsely proclaimed that Pitt would turn down any opportunity to work with Thornton until the divorce and custody issues are finalized.
Meanwhile, Us Weekly reports that contrary to recent rumors, Brad Pitt will not be spending Thanksgiving with Angelina Jolie and their kids.
“No shared turkey this year. Brad Pitt won’t be celebrating Thanksgiving with Angelina Jolie and their six kids, contrary to reports, multiple sources confirm to Us Weekly . ‘Angelina did not invite Brad to spend Thanksgiving with their kids,’ a source tells Us .”
Us Weekly adds that Brad Pitt has only seen the couple’s children three times since Angelina Jolie filed for divorce on September 19. An insider told Us that Brad is crushed about not seeing the kids often, but another said that the kids didn’t warm up to him during his visits. Still, many have shown sympathy for Brad Pitt on Twitter.

Still, according to an article in New York Magazine , Brad Pitt is going to be just fine. Columnist Allie Jones says that even though Jolie has been crystal clear about wanting sole custody of her kids, Pitt has been absolved by the media and the necessary governmental departments of any wrongdoing.
“She’s lost her ace. The divorce negotiations will probably start fresh, with both parties standing on a more even playing field,” Jones says, adding that many in Hollywood are eager to welcome Pitt back into the fold. The divorce, at least in terms of social media, has seemed to have a more negative effect on Angelina Jolie than Pitt.
