Melania Trump’s reactions during a widely shared encounter with her husband Donald Trump have been analyzed by a body language specialist, and the results are not encouraging.
On Saturday, June 14, the 55-year-old first lady accompanied the US president as he watched his military parade. In honor of the US Army’s 250th anniversary, more than 6,600 men marched down Constitution Avenue in Washington, DC, accompanied by tanks and robot dogs. Social media users, however, have noted that the parade, which reportedly cost an astounding $45 million, apparently didn’t attract the crowds Trump had hoped for.
The big day, which also happened to be the US president’s birthday, appeared to have a rather small attendance based on social media footage and pictures. Furthermore, Trump appeared to be sleeping during the ceremony, which is why the first lady wasn’t really impressed.
However, a specific older video from 2017 that is making the rounds on social media again shows Melania welcoming her husband with a smile before turning away and displaying what appears to be a large frown.

Body language expert Darren Stanton commented on the now-viral image in an interview with Spin Genie (via Tyla), saying: “Melania did a similar thing first when Trump was inaugurated in 2016; she had a scorned look of disgust on her face when he was facing the crowd.” However, she flashed a broad smile to make it appear as though she was proud of him when he turned around.
According to the expert, “Her body language here paints a similar picture.” Her phony smile in this video, which only shows the lower half of her face engaged, indicates that she is hiding her actual feelings, and the moment he leaves her eyeline, her expression returns to one of disdain.

Unfortunately for Trump, it appears many people on social media agree. The person who initially uploaded the video made a mocking jest, saying, “Find a woman that loves you as much as Melania loves Donald Trump.” Another person commented in the remarks, “She really looks disgusted by him.” Another social media user commented, “She can’t even keep it together for a sec!” and another said, “That is freaking hilarious!”
