Bobbi Kristina Brown remains in a dire medical condition after being found unconscious in a bathtub at her Roswell, Georgia, townhouse on January 31. However, authorities indicate that although it’s been five months since the event occurred, a criminal investigation is still ongoing.
People reports that Roswell Police Department Chief Rusty Grant recently spoke out on the issue. The officer indicates that although no one has been charged yet with a crime stemming from the January 31 incident, authorities are still investigating everything that happened that night.
“Criminal investigations remain active until a decision is made not to prosecute an individual(s) or a person is prosecuted, adjudicated and all appeals are exhausted.”
Attorney Julie Rice also spoke on the issue. Although she’s not affiliated with Bobbi Kristina or any family members, she states that the young reality star’s future will determine where the criminal case will go.
“They are most likely waiting to see the outcome of whether or not she dies before bringing any charges. They would most likely wait until if she died to bring charges rather than bring charges when there is no death involved. If they do have a suspect in mind, they are probably monitoring that person at all times.”
Nick Gordon, 26, Bobbi Kristina’s boyfriend, still remains the primary suspect in the investigation. Although he claims he tried to perform CPR on Bobbi Kristina and had nothing else to do with the incident, authorities stated earlier this year that she had marks and bruises on her body that were unusual for someone who lost consciousness in a bathtub.
Meanwhile, conflicting stories on Bobbi Kristina’s condition continue to surface. Her aunt, Leolah Brown, recently said that her niece is healing and the family is focusing on God’s grace to help her.
“We are allowing her to just continue healing in God’s Grace and Mercy.”
However, Cissy Houston, Bobbi Kristina’s grandmother, indicates that her granddaughter’s condition is extremely grim. Last month, Houston also stated that Bobbi Kristina was not progressing at all, and although the situation looks dire, she continues to also hold out hope for a miracle.
“She’s the same. We’ve moved her now to a place for rehabilitation. There’s still not a great deal of hope. We’re praying.”
The 22-year-old reality star remains in an Atlanta-area, long-term rehabilitation center. She was moved there earlier this year in March, after spending two months at Atlanta’s Dekalb Medical Center. Family continues to ask for support and prayers for Bobbi Kristina Brown.
