Aside from returning to his red coaching chair on The Voice, country superstar Blake Shelton is preparing to host the 2016 Nickelodeon’s Kids’ Choice Awards .
Nickelodeon announced in November that they had asked Shelton to serve as the host of this year’s awards, and of course he said yes!

“My agent called and was like, ‘Man, you know, is there anything that you can think of that you’d want to do?’ And I actually had been thinking, ‘I want to host those Kids’ Choice Awards!’ And she was like, ‘Uh, OK…’” Shelton said at the time.
“It’s fun,” Shelton added. “And I want to get slimed!”

Blake Shelton has hosted several awards shows before, but he has never hosted alone. According to E! News, he co-hosted the Academy of Country Music Awards with Reba McEntire from 2011 and 2012 and with Luke Bryan each year since.
“I’ve been on countless stages throughout my life, but none have promised the madness, excitement and endless slime as Nick’s Kids’ Choice Awards , which is undoubtedly the ultimate party for kids,” Shelton told People Magazine in November. “There is only one team here, and it’s Team Kids’ Choice so bring it on Nickelodeon!” The 2016 Kids’ Choice Awards will kick off on Saturday, March 12, at 8 p.m. ET/PT. Kids can cast their votes via Nick.com and by using the Nick app on iPad, iPhone, Kindle and Android devices. People can also vote on Nickelodeon’s Twitter feed using the hashtag #KCA and the hashtag of their favorite nominee in whichever category they choose.
