Black Friday holidays sales have already started in 2012 with “Black November” now entering our vocabularies. As already reported on The Inquisitr , Walmart is launching its Black Friday sales starting on Thanksgiving Day itself. They are also implementing a graduated sales release schedule that’s sure to ensure some shoppers might stay in Walmart all day. But some companies have begun advertising Black Friday-like sales during the entire month of November.
So far computer geeks have the most to benefit from Black November. Computer, electronics, and household goods website NewEgg.com launched a plethora of sales beginning on November 1. The deals are the usual NewEgg fare: computer components and accessories at 30 to 40 percent off, deeply discounted software programs, and some HDTVs and general electronics.
Amazon kick-started their Black Friday sales on November 1, although they are not specifically referring to these sales as Black November. These sales are expected to last until November 18. In addition, Amazon will be extending their post-Black Friday Cyber Monday sales into Cyber Week with new deals every day starting on November 25.
Like Amazon, Walmart has opened up a seasonal Ultimate Online Specials page where customers can browse through electronics, toys & sports, home, and more categories. Probably not as good as the actual Black Fri…er, Thursday sales, but a bargain is a bargain.
Black November will also feature increased price matching. Traditionally, brick-and-mortar stores like Best Buy will only price match if a local store has a better price. All you have to do is bring proof of another retailer’s lower price on the same exact model, and the retailer will charge that much instead. Unfortunately, you cannot simply walk up with your smartphone and show them the best online price on Google Shopper and expect them to beat it. Beginning on November 4, Best Buy will begin price-matching against other online sites. This special offer will run through December 24 but won’t be in effect during Thanksgiving Week or Cyber Monday. Target will also be doing price-matching as of November 1.
Some people may not like this new move toward having a Black November. Instead of focusing on God and family during Thanksgiving Day, employees of large retailers will be forced to work. Customers will be too busy shoving and screaming at each other for the latest doohickey instead of being thankful for what they already have.
