The Big Bang Theory is nearing the Season 9 premiere, and spoilers indicate that the lingering questions between Leonard and Penny could soon be answered.

In the cliffhanger ending to Season 8, fans of The Big Bang Theory were left wondering if Penny (Kaley Cuoco-Sweeting) and Leonard (Johnny Galecki) would tie the knot. Viewers last saw them headed toward Las Vegas to elope, but Leonard felt compelled to confess that he got drunk and kissed another woman before they were engaged.

This led to a fight over why he chose that moment to confess the indiscretion to Penny, but Leonard assured her that he was committed to getting married.

But Kaley Cuoco-Sweeting gave fans a major Big Bang Theory spoiler for Season 9, telling Entertainment Tonight that the two will have a happy ending.

“Between Leonard and Penny, all the dreams came true for me. I’ll put it that way,” said Cuoco-Sweeting (via IB Times ). “I’ve been waiting many seasons for it.”

While Cuoco-Sweeting wouldn’t come right out and confirm that the two were getting married, she said viewers won’t have to wait long to find out exactly what happens.

“We’ve shot a couple episodes, and it has been amazing right out of the gate. I even think the next one we shot is funnier than the first one we shot,” said Cuoco-Sweeting. “It answers a lot of questions. We’re off to a great start.”

The possible wedding revelation is not the only Big Bang Theory spoiler to emerge for Season 9, this one for Sheldon (Jim Parsons). A producer told Entertainment Weekly that Laurie Metcalf, who plays Sheldon’s mother, will be returning for the season premiere. This seems to imply that the episode will deal head on with Sheldon’s up-in-the-air relationship with Amy (Mayim Bialik), which seemed very much in doubt when Season 8 ended.

Bialik herself has spilled some details on the upcoming season of The Big Bang Theory , writing on her blog Kveller that the episode would delve into their relationship problems, but not give complete closure. She also didn’t indicate one way or the other if they were still together.

“It’s a very funny episode. It doesn’t tie everything up in a neat package; our show rarely does that.”

There could be some more drama very shortly into the upcoming season. Previous spoilers for The Big Bang Theory Season 9 hint that Leonard’s “other woman” will show up early on, likely in the second episode.
