“The time has come,” reads the very cool new Batman Vs. Superman poster created by a fan who apparently is too excited to wait for the real thing to come from Warner Bros. But it’s really good.
The dark poster shows a defiant Henry Cavill (Superman) ready to pounce at his new rival, Ben Affleck (Batman), in what is expected to be one of the biggest blockbusters of 2015.
Zack Snyder has not titled his new film yet so we only know it as Batman Vs. Superman/Man Of Steel 2.
But what we do know is that the two main characters will face-off for the first time on the big screen.
The artist, by the name of Squiddytron, shared the telling piece online, brought to us via flicksandbits.com , and it looks that it could pass for the real thing, but WB is not yet ready to put out anything official.
Production for Batmen Vs. Superman starts early next year and will also feature Amy Adams, returning as Lois Lane, Diane Lane as Clark Kent’s earth mom, and Laurence Fishburne as Lois’ boss.
Snyder’s re-imagined Superman universe now has a new character, one comic book fans know and love, and who was portrayed so successfully by British actor Christian Bale in Christopher Nolan’s trilogy The Dark Knight.
It is not clear at this point how Batman will feature in Superman’s world, but script writer David S. Goyer recently hinted that he will not necessarily be a villain but an antagonist and will advise the Man of Steel on what his powers really mean to the world.
With Ben Affleck in the role of Batman and his human self, Bruce Wayne, the confrontation is set. Now what remains to be seen is what Affleck will do with the role.
There was outcry from almost every quarter when the studio announced that he would be the one to portray Batman in the sequel Batman Vs. Superman , but the Oscar winner says he is not afraid of the criticism.
