Rocksteady Studios just released part two of its three-part video series showcasing the gameplay of Batman: Arkham Knight for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. Part one demonstrated some of the new moves available to the Caped Crusader when pummeling bad guys. The newly released part two is all about the Batmobile making like a Bat-tank against an army of drones.

This new Batman: Arkham Knight gameplay trailer is set in the same Ace Chemicals factory location as the first. This time, Batman faces off against a squad of drone tanks directed by the Arkham Knight in the factory courtyard by bringing all the abilities of the Batmobile to bear.

The Arkham Knight video is strictly gameplay, but it is cut in such a way that it looks like a slickly produced CGI video. There’s no HUD or other on-screen indicators as all the focus is on the action between the Batmobile and the drone tanks.

What is shown is many of the Batmobile abilities that Rocksteady previously revealed . Batman’s vehicle of choice comes with the ability to slide side to side, plus an impressive array of weaponry including a cannon, machine gun, and rockets.

It’s not strictly canon that the Batmobile comes with such a deadly assortment of weapons, but Warner Bros gave Rocksteady some leeway with the Arkham titles. The titular Arkham Knight is one such example, as he is an all new character created just for the conclusion of the video game series. Still, the deadly weapons are directed solely at drones. The Batmobile comes with a non-lethal alternative, but still painful, alternative for bad guys.

Here’s how Rocksteady introduces the Batmobile on the official site. Its abilities go beyond fighting.

Introducing the Batmobile — The Batmobile is brought to life with a completely new and original design featuring a distinct visual appearance and a full range of on-board high-tech gadgetry. Designed to be fully drivable throughout the game world and capable of transformation from high speed pursuit mode to military grade battle mode, this legendary vehicle sits at the heart of the game’s design and allows players to tear through the streets at incredible speeds in pursuit of Gotham City’s most dangerous villains. This iconic vehicle also augments Batman’s abilities in every respect, from navigation and forensics to combat and puzzle solving creating a genuine and seamless sense of the union of man and machine.

The third part in the gameplay video series will be released Saturday, December 6 as part of the PlayStation Experience. What do you think of the Batmobile’s more prominent role in Batman: Arkham Knight ? Sound off in the comments below.
