Ariana Grande and her Sam & Cat co-star are facing even more unrelenting internet gossip this week.
If you haven’t the followed behind-the-scenes drama on the hit Nickelodeon show this year, then you’re probably wondering what all the fuss is about. The Inquisitr previously reported that Jennette McCurdy was allegedly furious with the network after she learned Grande’s paycheck was quite a bit bigger than her own.
Although Ariana shot down these rumors with a statement not too long ago, it would appear that people are still convinced her friendship with McCurdy has hit the skids. When the actress posted that she had recently ended a very “toxic” friendship, many folks assumed she was referring to Grande .
Ariana’s co-star posted on TwitLonger:
“We aren’t better friends because being friends with you takes the ‘better’ out of me. In fact, I might possibly be the worst version of myself when I’m around you. As for what happened to our friendship, it faded once through happenstance and it is happening this time through my stance. I’m standing up for myself. I’m not playing your games, letting you manipulate me, and succumbing to your twisted perception of reality.”
So is McCurdy’s post really about Ariana Grande? It’s anyone’s guess at this point. Even the anonymous sources over at Hollywood Life aren’t too sure about the situation. According to the website, it’s unlikely that Jennette’s TwitLong story was about Grande.
The insider dished:
“As far as I know, I know the situation pretty well — they’re not in a fight. I really don’t think [the tweet] is about Ariana, and I know they haven’t had a falling out. They were still hanging out last week! But I do now that there’s probably a lot of jealousy there — they’re young girls. Last week things were fine, but I do know there’s a little bit of jealousy because Jennette owned Nickelodeon and then Ariana came along.”
So what does all this endless speculation mean at the end of the proverbial day? Absolutely nothing. Since McCurdy decided to exclude the person’s name from her digital rant, nobody really knows who she’s referring to at the moment. Since she’s reportedly had issues with Grande in the past, some people were completely convinced she was talking about the “Problem” singer.
