Anne Hathaway is still very interested in doing a Catwoman spin-off, according to Worst Previews .
After the infamous debacle that was mononymous director Pitof’s 2004 disaster Catwoman , Hathaway’s performance in Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight was definitely a breath of fresh air. The Batman Begins director even mentioned that he wouldn’t mind seeing Hathaway reprise the role in another motion picture.
While discussing the acclaimed musical Les Miserables with the folks at Access Hollywood , Anne Hathaway revealed that she is still very much interested in portraying the character once again.
“I would love it,” the actress explained. “I actually, it’s so embarrassing, I was at a press Q & A thing the other night for a screening of ‘The Dark Knight,’ and the moderator asked me, ‘So what was it like to say goodbye to the character?’ And I burst into tears, because I miss her.”
She added, “It just makes me cry. I miss her. I love Selena so much and I love her presence in my life and getting to … I’m crying again. So assuming there was enough Kleenex in the world, I would love to do a spin-off.”
When asked about the prospect of a separate Catwoman movie, Hathaway told Digital Spy in July that it would depend entirely on the people involved with the project.
“I think it would be lovely to see more of her but only if it’s with the right people,” the actress explained. “She lives in this Gotham City and so it would have to be established by the people who have made this Gotham City. For me, at least.”
Right now, there’s currently no word when or if a Catwoman spin-off will find its way into theaters.
